Michigan’s natural beauty awes and inspires us. How many times have you wished you could capture the magic of a walk in the woods, the peaceful serenity of a cool, dark glassy lake, or the brilliant flash of color a darting Cardinal brought to your backyard! Well, you can! The Michigan Wildlife Conservancy is pleased to
announce the 2008 Great Lakes Photo Tours – an opportunity for you to
learn to make better nature photographs, regardless of equipment and skill
level, while visiting and exploring some of the most scenic and inspiring
natural areas of the Great Lakes State. A variety of photo tours are available – from
one-day excursions that are a perfect introduction to nature photography,
to three-day weekend trips to some of the state’s most photogenic areas
and a spectacular six-day in-depth tour to Michigan’s breathtaking
“Copper Country” in the U.P. Best
of all, a portion of the registration fee for each tour will benefit the
MWC! All tours are hosted and taught by two of the most respected professionals in the business, who have 50 year’s of experience between them in naturalist and digital photography. Naturalist Photographer Mark S. Carlson has explored the natural beauty of the Great Lakes region since childhood. His photography appears in magazines, books and calendars, most notably in the hardcover scenic book Michigan Simply Beautiful. Digital Expert Bob Grzesiak is an established veteran of the photographic industry. Bob assists Great Takes Photo Tour digital photographers with their cameras and accessories, guiding them through the world of digital photography in understandable, layman’s terms.
Whether you’re a digital “snap-shooter” or an advanced amateur photo
enthusiast, you’ll learn priceless tips and techniques that will help you
create cherished photographs, not just memories, that you can share with friends
and family for years to come. For more information about the 2008 Great Lakes Photo Tours, registration forms and details about how to make sure your participation benefits the MWC, call Beth Elliott at (517) 641-7677 or email: wildlife@miwildlife.org. But don't delay! Due to the intimate nature of these tours they tend to sell out quickly, so to avoid disappointment, register for your choice of tour, today!
