BIOGRAPHY

Dennis Fijalkowski, Executive Director, Michigan Wildlife Conservancy. M.S., B.S. in wildlife management, M.S. in forestry - Michigan State University.

Dennis Fijalkowski has been a natural resource professional since 1974. His adult life has been spent organizing sportsmen and environmentalists, and educating citizens about the responsible use of natural resources. He was a co-founder of the Michigan Chapter of Wildlife Society, the Michigan Wild Turkey Federation, five chapters of the Michigan Duck Hunters Association, the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy, and many local environmental organizations. For five years Fijalkowski served as the key staff person and liaison to over 400 affiliated conservation groups of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC). He also served as a natural resources and energy consultant to the Michigan Senate for two years.

Mr. Fijalkowski has been the Executive Director of the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy since its inception in 1982, and is responsible for the oversight of the Conservancy's administrative, fundraising, training and wildlife restoration functions. Beginning in 2000, he served for nearly five years as President of the Environmental Fund for Michigan, a workplace fundraising coalition representing 25 of the largest environmental groups in the state. His administrative experience is augmented with expertise in public participation, human dimensions of natural resource management, and environmental impact assessment.
