Get Your Green Thumb at Van Atta's April 19 & 20

Celebrate spring, save money on sprucing up your yard and garden, and help raise funds for the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy. Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20 Van Atta’s Greenhouse & Flower Shop in Haslett is sponsoring an open house.

Van Atta’s has selected the Wildlife Conservancy to be the featured community charitable organization to receive a share of the proceeds from this annual weekend community event. Open House activities include free educational workshops and activities for all ages, complimentary refreshments, and a chance to win free prizes from 12 to 5 p.m. each day.

Every Open House guest who makes a donation of $5 to support the Wildlife Conservancy will receive a special "I Got My Green Thumb at Van Atta's" stamp which entitles the bearer to a 10% off all purchases made that day, including sale items.  A portion of "Green Thumb" sales during the Open House weekend will be donated to the Wildlife Conservancy.

MWC staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide information about Conservancy programs and activities both days.  MWC supporters interested in volunteering to assist should contact Beth at (517) 641-7677 or wildlife@miwildlife.org.

Van Atta's, located at 9008 Old M-78 in Haslett, is a full-service gardening center and greenhouse.  They offer a large selection of gifts, gardening supplies, annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs.  For directions or other questions about Open House activities, call Van Atta's at (517) 339-1142 or toll free at (800) 395-6448 or visit their website: www.vanattas.com.
